Pitta 'mpigliata is a typical Calabrian dessert, originally from San Giovanni in Fiore but widespread throughout the province of Cosenza. It is a dessert prepared both during Easter and on the occasion of Christmas. It has a very tasty filling , made up of almonds, walnuts and raisins , ours is enriched with fig molasses.
Uses in the kitchen
A typical Christmas and Easter sweet that finds its place at the end of a meal, with a good coffee, a amaro, or as a snack with a tea, a cappuccino or even a hot chocolate.
Ingredients: Type 00 WHEAT flour, sugar, fig molasses, olive oil, wildflower honey, orange juice, cinnamon, raisins, walnuts, almonds.
