Do you know Bagels?
They are "savoury donuts" typical of Polish
and Jewish cuisine that have become famous all over the world, especially in
America where they are used during brunch.
In this recipe we propose a 'clever' version, with a
faster preparation ideal for aperitifs, hors d'oeuvres and of course brunch, in
the company of friends!
You can stuff the Bagels however you like, in
vegetarian or non-vegetarian versions... they will always be perfect.
Ingredients for 4 Bagels:
·
160 g Greek yoghurt
·
120 g 0 flour
·
One tablespoon lemon juice
·
A teaspoon of instant yeast for savoury
pies
·
Salt to taste
·
One egg yolk for brushing
·
Sesame or poppy seeds
For the filling:
·
spreadable cheese
·
Arugula
·
Smoked salmon
·
Dried tomatoes
Method
In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt and baking
powder. Then add the Greek yoghurt and lemon juice. Start mixing with a spoon
and then continue with your hands until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous dough.
From this dough ball, cut four balls into the shape of
a bagel.
Place the bagels on the baking tray lined with baking
paper and brush the surface with egg yolk. Sprinkle them with plenty of seeds
and bake at 180 degrees in a ventilated oven for about 25 minutes!
They will be fluffy on the inside and you can fill
them in a thousand different ways!
TIP: To impress with a different appetiser you can
also make them smaller.
