A classic of Calabrian cuisine, meatballs with sauce!
Good, savoury and tasty, meatballs are the perfect dish to delight young and
old alike.
You can even prepare them in advance and store them in
the freezer!
Ingredients
·
200 g minced beef
·
170 g sausage
·
30 g breadcrumbs
·
1 egg
·
25 g grated cheese
·
Salt and pepper to taste
·
Organic extra virgin olive oil to taste
·
350 g tomato sauce Pomodorossa
·
Dried oregano to taste
· 1 sprig of parsley
Method
Place the breadcrumbs in a blender and chop finely.
Remove the outer casing from the sausage and crumble it into a bowl. Add the
minced meat, a pinch of salt and pepper, the chopped parsley (leave some to one
side), the grated cheese, the chopped breadcrumbs and the egg and mix until
smooth.
Now prepare the meatballs (this mixture makes about 24
meatballs), trying to make them the same size. In a non-stick frying pan, heat
a little oil and brown the meatballs on both sides for a couple of minutes.
Pour the tomato sauce and half a glass of hot water
into the pan and leave to cook for about 20 minutes. During the last 5 minutes,
season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with plenty of oregano and chopped
parsley leaves.
