If you are looking for a simple and tasty vegetable side dish, this recipe is just right for you!

The peasant side dish is a typical recipe from the Calabrian peasant tradition, a dish that our grandparents used to prepare in the morning and keep warm, to enjoy after a hard day's work in the fields!

To prepare it, they used the vegetables available in the garden, flavoured with spices such as oregano, basil and chilli pepper.

A dish full of memories that we recommend you try. 

Ingredients for two

· Yellow, red and green peppers

· 1 onion

· 1 clove of garlic

· Salt to taste

· spices to taste

· Olive oil

· Arraganate black olives 


Thinly slice all the vegetables and place them in a baking dish with olive oil, garlic, salt and spices to taste (black pepper, oregano, thyme, rosemary); then add the Arraganate black olives and mix well to combine everything.

Bake in a hot oven at 200° for about 40 minutes.

Finish with fresh basil.

Tip: Accompany this side dish with whole-grain bread or freselle for an exceptional rustic flavour!
